Mr. Burret: Good morning, have you got anything for laryngitis? (coughing)
Pharmacist: Oh, that cough of yours sounds pretty nasty, how long have you been having this?
Mr. Burret: A few weeks… two months, perhaps.
Pharmacist: I can give you a sirup to ease the pain, but I recommend that you see a doctor, just in case. When was the last time you had a prophylactic examination?
Mr. Burret: Uhm, I’m not sure, must have been long time ago. But I hardly ever get sick and I lead a healthy life, so I thought I didn’t need it.
Pharmacist: Well, you should undergo prophylactic examination regularly, even if you feel good. Such examinations can help detect a number of serious medical problems. I don’t mean to scare you, but a regular cold is not likely to last for as long as two months.

Mrs. Johnson: You know I have had that radiotherapy treatment, do you? Well, the doctor told me I could use a special cream for the treated area.
Pharmacist: Have you got a prescription?
Mrs. Johnson: Oh, do I need one?
Pharmacist: I strongly advise that you not apply anything to your skin that has not been prescribed by your doctor.
Mrs. Johnson: But my skin seems so irritated.
Pharmacist: You could use baby oil, but apply it gently and not rub it in. You should also avoid cleaning the area with soap and water. And remember, no more tanning of the treated area!
Mrs. Johnson: I don’t like sunbathing anyway.
